The Indian women attempted to bat brilliantly, but their bowling colleagues did not step in as the South African women won by six wickets in the last ball thriller in the second T20 International on Sunday. Shaifali Verma (47) hit six fours and two sixes in his 31-ball innings and shared a 79-run partnership with Harleen Deol (31), while Richa Ghosh smashed an unbeaten 44-run knock off 26 balls. Chasing the target, Lizelle Lee smashed 70 off 45 balls with 11 fours and a six, while Laura Volvard scored an unbeaten 39-ball 53 as South Africa romped home on the last ball. .

Shaifali, who was initially cautious, hit the bowlers with three fours in the fourth over and brought the bowlers under pressure.
New batsman Harleen Dole, who scored fifty runs in the first T20I, sent Khaka to the backward point for his first boundary as India scored 31 for one in the first five overs.
Shafali then hit Nadar de Kirkel with a straight hit over the fence before the powerplay ended for India at 41, piling up extensively to hit a six.
Shefali got a life when he was dropped by Anne Bosch in the seventh over. Harleen took Annie to the cleaners with back-to-back boundaries.
In the 10th over, both Schaafali and Harleen hit a four each as Nadine de Kirke scored 14 runs.
The India opener sent N Wreck for a six with a slog sweep, but the bowler bowled cleanly on the final ball to send Shafali back to the leg side in search of another slog.

Harleen also departed after being caught out at the hands of Ismail in the next over. Ghosh hit three fours, while Jemimah Rodrigues (16) hit a four, when India scored 18 off Sunil in the 14th over.
After Rodrigues departed, Ghosh crossed four more boundaries to lead India to a competitive score. For South Africa, Shabineem Ismail (1/31), Noncululeco Mlaba (1/27), Nadine de Kilak (1/28) and Anne Bosch (1/26) were among the wickets.
