Wasim Jaffer returned with his best performance in a joking manner with the Indian wicketkeepers. Jafar quoted a picture posted by India head coach Ravi Shastri and made KL Rahul gesture to capture Agastya, son of Hardik Pandya. Jaffer joked that Indian wicketkeepers are always “reliable babysitters” in the context of a ban between wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and Australia Test captain Tim Paine during India’s 2018-19 tour of Australia. Pant was asked by the stump microphone to save his children from the Indian ‘keeper’ while sledding Pine.

Pant had met Pine’s wife and children after the 2018 Melbourne Test, in a match where Pine and Pant had a colorful conversation.

Jafar recalled that incident and wrote: “Watch KL holding Baby Agastya. Indian WK bats are always reliable children.”

The picture posted by Shastri showed that India’s players and support staff had some light moments from the field.

Shastri wrote in the tweet, “The pack that stays together. Bubble or any bubble. Results will come and go for others. Great day in lovely Pune.” Thakur, Rahul, Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

India registered a comprehensive 66-run victory over England in the first ODI of the three-match series in Pune on Tuesday.

Krunal, who made his ODI debut in the match, scored his first half-century, which was also the fastest by an Indian in ODI cricket.

He scored his half-century off just 26 balls and was dismissed for an unbeaten 58 off 31 balls.
