The upset Rajasthan president told the legislators, “Remove me if you want”

During the Zero Hour, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi said that the members of the House are not serious about the meetings of the committees.

Angered by the absence of House Ministers and legislators not following the rules, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi on Wednesday asked the members to take them to strict action if they do not like them.

During the Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly, the Speaker said that the members of the House are not serious about the meetings of the committees.

Mr. Joshi said, “It has been observed that when several departments are repeatedly given additional grants in the CAG report, there is no one to question the authorities.”

“Officers get promotions,” says the officer. I have to ask the question whether public funds are not put to good use. Ministers get angry on asking questions. If you don’t trust me, find a new president. I will be happy, ”said Mr. Joshi.

He said that it is expected that both the ruling and opposition members will follow the rules of the House.

He said, “It is a matter of regret that the Ministers have not decided in the House to participate in the Zero Hour. You have elected me. You can expel me if you want. I will be happy,” said Mr. Joshi.

During the Question Hour, Ramesh Chand Meena of Congress started debating with the Speaker on the seating arrangement in the House. Mr. Joshi said that Mr. Meena is a three-time MLA and knows that the Speaker does not make seating arrangements.

Due to COVID-19, the seating arrangement in the house has been changed and not all seats have mikes. The Speaker asked Mr. Meena to ask questions from another seat, which Mr. Meena declined, saying that he would ask questions from his own seat.

The Speaker did not allow him to ask a question and said that he had taken action in such a case. “No one can determine the chairman,” he said.

“I expect the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs that they have made a seating arrangement. Therefore, if an MLA directs the Speaker, it will not be tolerated. I have to take strict action. If you do not like strict action, then remove me from the post, ”Mr. Joshi said while clarifying zero hours.

He said that people would lose faith if the dignity of the House was not upheld. “The incident that happened today is unfortunate and should not recur,” he said.

The chairman said, “I am not making arbitrary rules.”

Shri Joshi also remarked that the Assembly has become the center of grievance redressal and the discussion of laws is becoming less frequent day by day. He said that efforts should be made to solve the problems of the people.

“I believe in the activism of the speaker, I do not believe in the role of a silent speaker. When I question, the ministers get angry. But, the water department’s plan of 332 crores is still not being done and Its cost is going up. To prevent wastage of public money it is necessary to raise questions, “he said.
