One worker was killed and eight injured when a railway track collapsed in Shakarpur area on Wednesday night. A case has been registered, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Yadav said that the deceased has been identified as Shahzad, a resident of Alwar.
Police said that the accident happened around 12 am when the workers were repairing the railway track by standing on a pipe bed. Eventually, the pipe’s position changed and they all fell from a height.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where Shahzad was declared brought dead and others are undergoing treatment.
Police said a case has been registered against the contractor under related sections.
