India’s all-rounder Krunal Pandya and England fast bowler Tom Curren were verbally seen towards the end of the first innings of the first ODI in Pune on Tuesday. The incident took place in the 49th over of the innings when Krunal scored his first half-century on ODI debut, which was also the fastest half-century on debut in ODI history as it did just 26 balls. After Krunal reached the bowler after completing the single, Karun was seen saying something to Krunal.

Krunal, who was influenced by Curran’s instigation, also felt with the Englishman that wicketkeeper Jose Butler also fell in disarray and had something of his own to relay to Pandya.

The on-field umpire had to intervene to separate the players.

After Butler, who had moved from his position behind the stumps to the top of the bowler’s run-up, went back, he was seen having a word with Krunal again before the umpire interfered again.

Krunal scored an unbeaten 58 off 31 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes to help India to 317 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs.

KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 62 runs with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes in 43 balls and shared an unbeaten 112-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Krunal.

Left-handed Krunal, the elder brother of Team India’s Hardik Pandya, appeared to be breaking at the break of the innings.

Promoted

The BCCI posted a video on social media in which Hardik was seen comforting his brother.

Hardik and Krunal lost their father Himanshu Pandya in January this year.
