Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh held a meeting with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in Delhi on Friday.
Mr. Deshmukh said that he met Mr. Pawar to resolve the issues of the multi-modal international cargo hub and airport project in Nagpur. “I gave him all the information. If the project comes to Nagpur, Vidarbha will benefit as jobs will be created.
He admitted that the developments in the Antilia bombings case were also discussed. “Investigations are underway by the NIA and ATS and the culprit will not be spared,” he said.
Although sources claimed that the sacking of Mr Deshmukh was imminent, the NCP denied it. State BJP president Chandrakant Patil sought the resignation of the minister.
In a private function on Thursday, Mr. Deshmukh admitted that the transfer of Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh was not regular and was the result of a lapse in police investigation into the case.
