Three persons were feared drowned in the Lola Irrigation Pond under the Atreyapuram Police limits in East Godavari district in the early hours of Friday and two persons survived in which they were traveling.
The incident took place when five persons of the same family were returning to their village after celebrating Shiva night at a temple in Atrayapuram mandal in East Godavari district. He is a native of Golla Koduru village in Pala Koduru mandal of West Godavari district.
Chau, a 45-year-old driver. Srinivasa Raju is found dead and his body was exhumed during a search operation.
According to the Atreyapuram police, two other Mantena Suresh Verma, 41 and Indukuri Satya Raju have feared drowning. Mudunuri Venkata Ganapati Raju and M. Sitaram managed to swim in the Raju canal and suffered minor injuries.
According to Adnan Naeem Asmi, SP, East Godavari, both men are feared drowned in the canal and search operations are on by deploying local swimmers. Ravulapalm and Atrayapuram police are coordinating the search operation.
