Organizers announced that Indonesia’s badminton team in Birmingham were forced to pull out of this week’s Kovid-affected All England Open Championship in Birmingham after a passenger flew to the UK. “As per the requirements of the UK government, the entire team will self-segregate for 10 days from the date of their inbound flight, after which testing positive for Kovid-19,” it said in a statement late Wednesday. “Not all Indonesian players will be able to compete in the current or next round of the tournament and hence they have been withdrawn from the All England Open 2021.”
The prestigious tournament began on Wednesday with a five-hour delay after several positive and inconclusive results. All came back after retiring.
