On Tuesday, on the eve of the 2022 World Cup qualifier against England, 19 Poland players said that two more Poland players have tested positive to bring the total to four. Football Association spokesman Jacob Kwiatkowski said on Twitter, “Poland’s national team performed more coronovirus tests. Unfortunately, the results were positive for Gryazgorz Krychowicz and Kamil Piatkowski.” Kwiatkowski, who said he himself tested positive as well, said the Polish football association was talking to UEFA to consider requesting authorization for Kryachovic to say he was already a coronovirus.

Midfielder Matus Klich and backup goalkeeper Lukasz Skorpsky tested positive last week.

Striker Robert Lewandowski will also miss the game at Wembley after injuring his right knee during a match against Andorra on Sunday in which he scored two goals.

Poland has seen a rapid increase in coronovirus infections over the past few weeks and currently has one of the world’s highest contagion rates per capita.
