According to HDFC Securities, gold plunged from 138 to ₹ 44,113 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday amid falling global precious metal prices.
In previous trade, it had closed at 44,251 per 10 grams.
Silver also declined from Rs 320 to Rs 63,212 per kg in previous trade.
In the international market, gold was at a low of $ 1,698 an ounce and silver was flat at $ 24.49 an ounce.
“Gold prices fell to a two-week low on a strong dollar due to selling with COMEX (New York-based commodity exchange),” said Tapan Patel, senior analyst (commodities) at HDFC Securities.
