Facebook-owned WhatsApp messenger has introduced new animation and ‘disable receipts’ feature for voice messages for iOS users. The messaging giant has updated its platform to version 2.21.40 and is live on the Apple App Store. This update brings only two new features to WhatsApp. WABetaInfo has unveiled a couple of new animations for voice messages. Once a voice message progress bar reaches the end, it starts over again from the start and this feature is currently available on iOS 13 and beyond.
Another feature that has been introduced which tweaks the read receipts for voice messages. If a user has disabled the read receipts on iOS, the sender will not be notified even if the receiver listen to it. To disable Read Receipts, head over to ‘WhatsApp Settings’, ‘Account’, ‘Privacy’ and ‘Read Receipts’.
WABetaInfo has also revealed that this feature has not arrived on Android yet. Last year, the company rolled out the disappearing messages feature on iOS and Android that automatically removed messages after seven days.
