Was Cadbury Ad Inspired by Real-Life Kiss by Saree-Clad Female Fan to Indian Cricketer Brijesh Patel in 1975, Watch Video

Cadbury, which has always come up with relatable and meaningful advertisements, dropped a ‘new’ one a few days ago and it has gone viral ever since. Cadbury brought back its iconic 90s Dairy Milk featuring model Shimona Rashi popularly known as ‘Cadbury Girl’ with a much-needed twist. If the old video saw the girl running to the field to celebrate her cricketer boyfriend’s win, the new Cadbury ad saw a happy man enjoying the chocolate bar and his cricketer girlfriend hit the winning run.

While everyone is hailing the gender-swap celebrating womanhood, here’s a look at this video below that can be called the inspiration to Cadbury’s original ad. This incident took place way back in 1975 when a saree-clad die-hard fan of Brijesh Patel, ran to the field to meet her idol. Here’s a look at the video that may have inspired the confectionary company and how!
