Some higher educational institutions in Tiruchi have been able to demonstrate the utility of groups of foreign students in mentoring students, providing them internships, and providing financial aid for scholarships to poor students.

Similarly, Holy Cross College has established international alumni chapters in Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia. Members make suggestions and contribute towards the continued development of the college and organize webinar sessions to share their knowledge and expertise with current batches of students.

This weekend, St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchi, will launch its alumni chapters in Singapore and the Middle East during 2021 – the Josephites Global Virtual Reunion.

So far 450 foreign students have registered for a virtual reunion and there are indications that this number will touch the 1,000 mark in the next few days.

“The college already has its own alumni chapter actively working in the United States, and is eager to start more chapters in Malaysia, Australia, Britain, the Netherlands and a few other countries,” Mr. Albert said.
