Former Mumbai police chief: ‘Delhi lobby’ angry with Shiv Sena

Last month also questioned the NIA’s move to investigate an explosive-laden SUV found near the home of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

Two days after Param Bir Singh was removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner, the Shiv Sena on Friday defended him, saying that his transfer does not make him a criminal, and alleged that “a special lobby in Delhi” upset him. . The Television Rating Points (TRP) scandal surfaced during his tenure.

Why Mumbai Police holds press meeting on TRP scam, High Court asks

In Maharashtra, the ruling party questioned the National Investigation Agency (NIA) move in investigating explosive SUV parked near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house last month, saying the agency usually investigates cases related to terrorism, but this case there There was no terrorist angle involved.

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday transferred Mr. Singh, who handled the Ambani-SUV case, and replaced him with senior IPS officer Hemant Nagrale.

“A vehicle containing 20 gelatin sticks was found on Mumbai’s Carmichael Road, which has exploded in the state’s politics and administration in the last few days. Param Bir Singh was removed from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner and senior officer Hemant Nagrale was appointed in his place. These are not routine transfers.

The suspicious death of Mansukh Deer, who was in possession of an explosive-laden SUV and vehicle near Ambani’s house, is a matter of concern. The opposition BJP has raised some questions on this, but as the state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) was investigating the case of Deer’s death, the NIA took over the investigation (in a vehicle found near Ambani’s house).

Hopefully, this is not intended to discredit the state government.

“The NIA usually investigates cases related to terrorism. But there is no terrorist angle involved in this case and yet it was stepped into it. However, the results of the agency’s investigation into the terrorist attacks of Uri, Pathankot and Pulwama are still a mystery. The party led by Uddhav Thackeray said that 20 gelatin sticks found in Mumbai is a major challenge for the NIA.

It said that Param Bir Singh had taken over as Mumbai Police Chief during the difficult times of the coronovirus epidemic and boosted the morale of the police force.

“During his tenure, the TRP scam surfaced. A special lobby in Delhi was angry with him, ”it said.

The party said that Singh has now been transferred, but this does not make him a criminal.

It also accused the opposition of politicizing deer deaths and lowering the morale of the state police.

“At least given the current situation, no one should commit such a sin. If the opposition feels that it can gain power through such means, then it is wrong.

The opposition tried to get to know the political bosses in the Deer case, saying they should find out on their own. “There are no political bosses in such cases. This is not the culture of Maharashtra.

Deer death case | Sachin Wedge filed bail before arrest

Sachin said in his plea that no FIR was named in the FIR registered by Maharashtra ATS in connection with Hiran’s death. He called the FIR “baseless and without any motive” and said it was the result of “witch-hunt”.

Police officer Sachin Veg, who is facing heat in the death of Mansukh Hiran, has filed a bail application before his arrest in a court in neighboring Thane district.

In his plea, Sachin said that no person was named in the FIR lodged by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in the deer death case. He called the FIR “baseless and without any motive” and said it was the result of “witch-hunt”.

He further claimed that at the time the deer went missing and was allegedly killed, he was in Dongri, south Mumbai.

Sachin filed a petition in Thane district sessions court under Section 438 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC). Under this section, a person can seek bail if he is making an arrest in a case.

The sessions court filed a petition for hearing on 19 March and in response directed the investigating officer to file his affidavit. In his plea, Sachin said that the complaint lodged by Deer’s wife was “based on baldness and without any basis or motive”.

The petition states that it is a stricter law that a bald suspicion of the first informer about the commission of a crime cannot justify the arrest of a citizen.

Sachin, accused of being involved in the suspected death of her husband by Hiran’s wife, was kicked out of the Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday. Sachin’s application further states that there is no inferior material against him and he has not been made an accused in the case.

“The applicant (Sachin) is a resident of Thane for a long time. Even though he was a client and acquaintance of the deceased, the bare reading of the FIR cannot give any motive to the applicant.

The ATS, which is investigating the case, has recorded Sachin’s statement earlier this week. Sachin said in the petition that he was extensively questioned by senior ATS officials on March 8, during which he said that he was in South Mumbai at the relevant time (when Hiran was allegedly murdered).

“On 4 March (all day) the applicant was in South Mumbai. Subsequently, on the night between March 4 and 5, the applicant was in Dongri area. This fact has been duly attested from contemporary records such as Station Diary Entries of Dongri Police Station.

“There is a virtual witch-hunt in betting in the news and social media, in which applicants are pre-judged based on half-incomplete information without proper research and judging by their guilt or innocence,” he said.

Sachin said that he is cooperating in the investigation and hence he should be protected from arrest. Sachin, Assistant Police Inspector of Crime Branch, has been transferred to the Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC) Unit of Mumbai Police.

On February 25, a Scorpio was found near the home of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in South Mumbai with explosives and threatening letters.

The buck, which was in possession of the SUV, claimed that it was stolen a week ago, but the case became serious when it was found dead in a drain in Thane on 5 March. Deer’s wife claimed that her husband had given her the SUV to Sachin in November, which the officer returned in the first week of February. During questioning by the ATS, Sachin has denied using the SUV that was in the possession of the buck.

NIA investigates explosive-laden vehicle near Ambani’s house

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) handled the case following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Monday that the NIA has taken up the case of an explosive-laden vehicle near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai.

Talking to reporters in Mumbai, Mr. Thackeray said that governments come and go, but the official administrative machinery remains the same and needs to be trusted.

An official spokesperson said on Monday that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) handled the case following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The agency is in the process of re-registering the case, the spokesperson said.

On Sunday, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) filed an FIR against unknown persons under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (disappearance of evidence of crime) and 120 (b) against the orders of the state home department. Conspiracy).

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said in the assembly on Monday that the state police was able to resolve the case of auto parts dealer Mansukh Hiran’s death and the recovery of an explosive-laden car near Ambani’s residence.

On Friday, Heeran, the alleged owner of the vehicle, was found dead in a drain in neighboring Thane.

Mr. Thackeray said, “We had handed over the case of the explosive-laden vehicle and the mysterious death of Mansukh Deer to the ATS. When the NIA handled the case, it was found that there was something wrong.”

The CM said that the ATS will continue to investigate the deer death.

He said that the opposition does not trust the state machinery and wants to show that it does not work.

“If this is the case, then why is the state government seeking to reduce taxes on fuel?” The Chief Minister asked.

Mr. Thackeray also said that the state police would punish the culprit for the alleged suicide of Lok Sabha member Mohan Delkarand.

Dadra (58), a seven-term MP from the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, was found dead in a hotel on Marine Drive in South Mumbai on 22 February.

Thackeray said, “Union Territory is governed by the Union. We will take the matter to its logical end. I wonder how the opposition here is calm on the issue of ending the life of a seven-year-old MP,” Mr. Thackeray said.
