Reliance to cover COVID-19 vaccination costs for employees, families

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd will bear the cost of vaccinating its employees and their immediate family, totaling an estimated 1.2 million, as the oil-to-telecom group looks to protect them from the COVID-19 virus.

India’s largest private company joins IT giants like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Accenture, and others such as the public sector State Bank of India, which are bearing the cost of immunization of their employees and their dependents.

Nita Ambani said, “As per our earlier commitment, Reliance will bear the entire cost of vaccination for you, your spouse, parents and vaccinated children. The firm has tied up with specific hospitals to conduct vaccination campaigns for employees in the places where they are stationed.

The vaccination campaign will include all employees of the company’s oil and chemical division, retail unit and telecommunications enterprise Jio, their partners and their registered dependents.

“Mukesh and I truly believe that nurturing the health and happiness of our loved ones means it is part of a family – the Reliance family”.

He further urged all those employees to get vaccinated under the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program for early registration.

In Phase-II of the inoculation drive, the government has allowed vaccinations for people over 60 years of age and those above 45 years of age with chronic health disorders.

It has asked private hospitals serving as vaccination centers to take doses of a 250 per vaccine.

For Reliance employees and their dependents, this cost will be borne by the company.

Ms. Neeta, who is the chairman of Reliance and the wife of the richest Indian Mukesh Ambani, urged the employees not to let their guard down against the crisis of coronovirus yet. “Continue the utmost safety and hygiene precautions. We are in the final stages of this collective fight.
