In Karur district, former Minister V. The nominations of Senthil Balaji, who has been pitted against Mr. Vijayabaskar in Karur constituency and former IPS officer and BJP candidate in Aravakurichi constituency. Annamalai are accepted in Karur district.

Out of 211 nominations filed for Karur, Krishnaraipuram (reserved), Kulathalai and Aravakuri constituencies, 40 were rejected by the returning authorities.

Most of them were filed by independents and were rejected for failing to produce mandatory documents.

When nominations for the Arvakurichi constituency were filed for investigation, an independent candidate lodged a protest that Mr. Annamalai failed to give details on the pending cases against him.

After a thorough investigation, the Returning Officer dismissed the protest and said that Mr. Annamalai had presented the information.
