Criticizing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the seat-sharing formula with the Kerala Congress (M), Union Minister of State for External Affairs V.V. Muralitharan has said that the Chief Minister favors ‘two leaves’ more than the red flag.
Mr. Muralitharan told reporters here on Thursday that Mr. Vijayan was in favor. “Those who agree with him will be present in the party. The left front has been destabilized under the autocracy of Mr. Vijayan. “
Mr. Muralitharan said that the CPI had become insignificant in the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
“Like everywhere else in the country, the CPI (M) is a sinking ship. Those who work with self-respect will survive the ship. The CPI (M) thinks people can be fooled with PR work, ”he said.
Poking fun at Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran’s comment that the Sabarimala incident is unfortunate, Mr Muralitharan said it was a political gimmick. There was no honesty in that comment, he said.
A meeting of state BJP leaders on Thursday made the final round of discussion on the selection of a candidate for the assembly elections. The announcement will be made in New Delhi on Friday.

Informal reports said that the BJP’s national leadership would decide whether Mr. Muralitharan should contest the election. Reports state that technocrats e. Sreedharan will contest from Palakkad.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, along with Mr. Muralitharan, met Archbishop Mar Andrews Thajath at the Bishop’s Palace here. However, the ministers said they discussed general issues and not politics.
