This is the largest sale of S-CNG car in the country, the largest car manufacturer.
The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, said on April 14 that it had sold more than 1.57 lakh factory-fitted S-CNG vehicles in the last financial year, its S-CNG car sales till date.
The company offers factory-fitted CNG options for its cars, including Alto, Celerio, Wagon-R, S-PRESSO, Eeco, Ertiga, Tour S and Super Carry.
“We see CNG as a technology that has set a new criterion in green fuel dynamics … the most preferred alternative due to the economic costs of CNG running (compared to the high prices of petrol and diesel) and Fuel is becoming one of them. Shashank Srivastava, executive director (marketing and sales) of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said that there has been improvement in the filling of CNG infrastructure.
