India needs 2,200 new aircraft in next 20 years: Boeing

Boeing says that total demand is expected to double in the next 10 years.

According to Boeing’s market outlook, India will need more than about $ 320 billion over the next 20 years.

Although the COVID-19 epidemic has sharply reduced Indian air travel in 2020, the recovery rate of domestic passenger traffic has reached 76% of pre-epidemic levels globally. According to Boeing, domestic passenger traffic is expected to return to 2019 levels by the end of 2021, after which international traffic will fully recover by the end of 2020. The total demand is expected to double in the next 10 years.

The Indian fleet is expected to consist of 2,200 new aircraft, 88% being single-corridor and 12% twin-corridor. About 21% of the new deliveries will be for retiring old aircraft, while more than three quarters will be for fleet expansion.
