The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Srinivasan as Chairman of PESB for a period of three years.
Mallika Srinivasan, chairman and managing director of Tractor and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Ltd, has been appointed as the chairman of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel on Thursday.
Officials said this is the first time that a private sector expert has been appointed as the head of the PESB, which is responsible for appointing top management positions in the Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Srinivasan as the Chairman of the PESB for a period of three years from the date he assumes office or till he attains the age of 65 years.
Mr. Sailesh, a 1985 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as a member of PESB.
He is currently the Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises.
Mr. Sailesh, who was due to be supernatural in September this year, has been appointed as a PESB member for a period of three years from the date of assuming charge, or till he attains the age of 65 years.
The PESB will consist of one chairman and three full-time members.
MK Gupta and Rear Admiral Shekhar Mital (retd.) Are two serving members of the PESB.
