The new Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the ultimate productivity smartphone from Samsung. Users get a larger 7.6-inch screen with support for stylus and Microsoft just announced that all Office mobile apps will be optimised for Samsung’s new foldable phones– Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. With the hardware capabilities of the new foldable phones along with support for Microsoft apps that you require to work, the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 may replace your office laptop. Also, Microsoft is including better integration for Microsoft Teams too.
To see a presentation in full-screen, you can simply unfold the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Also, you can see the faces of your co-workers on a Microsoft Teams call underneath. “Also on that Teams call, pull up the Whiteboard and draw what you’re explaining on the board with an S Pen. With Microsoft Outlook’s dual-pane mode for Galaxy devices, you can read a full email while previewing others on the side, just like on a desktop,” explained Microsoft.
There’s support for multi-active windows with which you can run multiple apps at the same time. “For example, you can open Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and easily drag and drop a table right into your presentation. Now, you can even run two instances of the same app,” said Patrick Chomet, executive vice president, head of Mobile Products & Experiences at Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rate. Note that the cover display is what you will see when the device is folded. You can perform all tasks on this display and it is made of glass. When you unfold the device, you will get a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED main display with 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is powered by a 5nm 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz. It is the fastest Android processor. The phone supports 5G connectivity.
