Dyson’s latest gadget can capture swine flu particles and 99.95% of mould and pollen

Dyson has introduced a new purifier, dubbed Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool, that includes an H13 HEPA filtration system capable of capturing 99.95 percent of airborne particles, including allergens, bacteria, pollen, and mould spores. Of course, as the name suggests, the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool also acts as a fan during the hot summer months too.

The clever new gadget is able to detect and notify you about the air-quality in your home in real-time, so you’ll be the first to know if anything changes. An activated carbon filter inside the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool strips-out gases and odours from the room too.

Modern air conditioning and central heating systems can cause indoor air to dry out, Dyson says. Humidifiers are a great way to solve that problem, however, dirty reservoirs and filters in humidifiers can quickly breed bacteria and mould around your home. In some humidifiers, this can then be carried in the water droplets of mist or steam released into the air.

Dyson says its engineers have strived to solve these commonplace problems, redesigning the airflow pathways to achieve fully-sealed HEPA 13 standard filtration. That complete seal should ensure that no dirty air enters the airflow, ensuring that everything is passed through the filters – straining out everything from the H1N1 virus (commonly known as swine flu) as well as 99.95 percent of particles as small as 0.1 microns such as allergens, bacteria, pollen and mould spores.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool is designed to project hygienically humidified and purified air into every corner of the room. You can set the device to Auto mode, which uses software to intelligently react to changing air quality and humidity levels. If you’d prefer to manually enable and disable the device, it can be controlled from anywhere via the Dyson Link App on your smartphone or tablet. Dyson has also added support for voice controls too.

In the box, you’ll find a remote control for the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool, if you’d prefer not to reach for your smartphone or bark orders at your air purifier.

Speaking about the latest launch, Alex Knox, who works as Vice President of Environmental Care at Dyson, said: “Purifiers that aren’t properly sealed can leak pollutants, while humidifiers without sufficient water treatment can project polluted water droplets into the air. Dyson has engineered a machine that tackles both of these problems, pioneering new full-machine HEPA 13 filtration to ensure no dirty air bypasses the filter, whilst hygienically humidifying for cleaner air.”

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool is available to buy now in White and Silver finish, with prices from £599.99. It ships with three accessories and there are a number of payment plan options available.
