DGFT extends the time limit to implement the track and trace system for drugs

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the implementation deadline for implementation of the track and trace system by one year for the export of drug formulations.

A notification in this regard stated that the implementation date, which was April 1, 2021, is being extended to April 1, 2022.

“The date of implementation of the track and trace system for export of drug formulas and its uploading to the central portal for maintaining the parent-child relationship in packaging levels extended to 01.04.2022 for both SSI and non-SSI manufactured drugs Has been given, ”it said.

Director General of Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India Ravi Uday Bhaskar said Pharmexcil had highlighted the difficulties faced by member-exporters in implementing the track and trace system and their request for extension of timeline to the Commerce Department.

“The DGFT has considered the request and issued a public notice extending the implementation date to 1 April 2022,” he said in a communication to the members.
