A 22-year-old worker from Odisha died after staging where he was standing, suddenly collapsed and fell from the third floor of a building of the Indian Institute of Technology on the Madras campus.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Kanu Behera from Odisha.
He was standing in the scaffolding near the building and was doing painting work on the third floor as soon as it was cast on Thursday evening. He was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
On notice, the Kotturpuram police sent his body for postmortem to the Government Royapetta Hospital and registered a case.
