ZTE has launched its second-generation under-display camera smartphone in China. The company unveiled the ZTE Axon 30 5G phone with a 16MP selfie camera under the screen. It comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor and features a quad rear camera.
Price and availability
ZTE Axon 30 5G phone will be offered in two colour options — Black and Green. The smartphone comes with a starting price of CNY 2,198 (approx. Rs 25,000) for the 6GB+128GB variant. Other models include 8GB RAM+128GB and 8GB+256GB that are priced at CNY 2,498 (approx. Rs 28,500) and CNY 2,798 (approx. Rs 32,000), respectively.
The phone’s top-end model is equipped with 12GB RAM and has a storage capacity of 256GB. It is priced at CNY 3,098 (approx. Rs 35,400).
The company says that the smartphone will also be launched in global markets.
Specifications
ZTE Axon 30 5G is equipped with a large 6.92-inch 10 bit AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display offers a touch sampling rate of 360Hz and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9.
The screen also houses the 16MP selfie camera. The handset is said to come with rearranged pixels having higher transparency cathodes. The company has also doubled the ppi count above the camera module to 400ppi up from 200ppi on the Axon 20. The under-display selfie camera uses 4-in-1 binning process and can capture 2.24um equivalent pixels.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. ZTE Axon 30 5G boasts of 64MP Sony IMX682 primary camera paired with a 5MP macro camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth camera.
The device is backed by a 4200mAh battery and offers 55W wired charging. It runs on ZTE’s MyOS 11 custom operating system with a layer of Android 11 on the top.
