The working group consists of a 15-member working group consisting of seven members of the cabinet sub-committee and one member each from eight civil society organizations.
Officials said the first meeting of a group working on job reservation in government services in Nagaland on Saturday could not arrive at any concrete solution.
In a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary J Alam, it was decided that the next meeting of the working group will be held on April 21 in Kohima.
During the meeting, members of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) once again side with the eastern Nagas and demanded 45% reservation in government services, while other Naga tribes revisited the entire system of reservation policy.
Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) President T. “We have come to a certain level on each other’s demands, but there can be no concrete solution in today’s meeting and have decided to hold the next meeting on 20 April,” Kaikongchim said. He also said that in Saturday’s meeting it was decided that the cabinet sub-committee on job reservation appointed by the state government would come up with a draft proposal of the government and discuss it point-by-point to arrive at a solution.
The working group was constituted on 5 March to review the job reservation policy, convened by the state government through the state sub-committee on reservation policy with different stakeholders headed by Deputy Chief Minister Yenthungo Patton. There was a consultation meeting on reservation policy.

Civil society organizations are – Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO), Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Tenimi Public Organization, Core Committee of Reservation for Reservation Policy (CCoRoRP), Eastern Nagaland Students ‘Federation (ENSF), Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers Association, Naga Students’ Federation. And Central Nagaland Students Association.
