The Cricket Board said on Thursday that Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of the West Indies tour and will miss two one-day internationals and two Test matches. Sri Lanka Cricket said that 33-year-old Mathews, a former captain, was going on a Caribbean tour on Thursday and would not join the team which has already played three T20 matches and one ODI. “The purpose of his return is to be involved in a family affair,” Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement.
Official memorials said the tough quarantine procedures meant he would not be able to rejoin the team for the rest of the tour.
