WhatsApp Payments just got a new fancy feature, and why you may also give it a miss – morningtidings

WhatsApp has added a new feature that allows users to add payment background when sending money. With the new feature, WhatsApp users will be able to choose from a range of artful expressions created by WhatsApp to complement payments on occasions like birthdays, holidays, or for gifts and travel.
“The core idea of this feature update is to create a more personalised experience for the sender as well as the receiver by adding an element of expression when friends and family exchange money,” WhatsApp says.
WhatsApp Payments is live for all users in the country. Developed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), it offers a real-time payment system with over 227 banks.
How to change payment background on WhatsApp

  • Tap on the attachment icon in WhatsApp chat
  • Tap Payment and enter the amount you want to send
  • Now, tap on the stars icon present on the mobile screen and choose a background of your choice
  • Enter UPI PIN and proceed to make the payment

Recently, the company rolled out its ‘view once’ feature for photos and videos for Apple iPhone users. It was already available for WhatsApp beta testers and only Android devices had access to it. The ‘view once’ feature is inspired by Snapchat. Photos and videos sent in this mode can be viewed only once. This means that the sent media will disappear from the chat once a user opens the photo or video.
