WhatsApp calls: WhatsApp calls on iPhones is changing, here's what's new - Times of India

WhatsApp is changing how the calling interface looks on iPhones. WhatsApp beta release version 2.21.140.11, which is in testing now, will reportedly introduce a FaceTime-like calling interface for WhatsApp calls. As per a report by WABetaInfo, there will be a ‘Ring’ button in the new interface as well which will allow users to ring back people easily. Also, WhatsApp will allow iPhone users to join an ongoing group call at a later time if he or she missed joining the group call when it was first made.
“If you temporarily ignore participating in a group call, and you open WhatsApp again after some time, if the group call is still ongoing, WhatsApp might present you an alert if you want to quickly join the call, without asking other participants to add you again,” explained the report by WABetaInfo.
It also added that while the new calling features and interface is already present on WhatsApp beta for iOS it will be soon available on Android as well.
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature for its iPhone users that is similar to the “view once” photos and videos feature in Snapchat. It lets users see photos and videos only once and then it gets ‘deleted’ on its own. Note that the person to whom you are sending the photos or videos can always save them by taking a screenshot. WhatsApp doesn’t prevent users from taking screenshots nor does it notify users when the receiver of the message has taken a screenshot.
The “view once” feature was already made available to Android beta users of WhatsApp earlier.
