West Bengal Assembly Election |  BJP announced 148 candidates;  Mukul Roy landed in the field from Krishnanagar North

Folk artist Ashim Sarkar is named in the party from Haringata and scientist Gobardhan Das from Purbasthali North.

The BJP announced 148 candidates for the West Bengal assembly elections on March 18, including party vice-president Mukul Roy and former state unit chief Rahul Sinha.

The party continued with its strategy of fielding MPs coming from different walks of life and MPs named folk artist Ashim Sarkar from Haringata assembly seat and scientist Gobardhan Das from Purbasthali North.

The party has fielded Mr. Sinha from Habra and Mr. Roy from Krishnanagar North seat. Mr. Roy is a former Union Minister and former Trinamool Congress leader.

The BJP has so far announced five sitting MPs, including Union Minister, as their candidate for the assembly elections in the state.
