The house of the deceased Waliyar sisters in Attappam came under attack when her mother went to file a nomination against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the Assembly elections in Dharmadom on Wednesday.
The water tank of the house was found to be demolished. There was no one at home when the attack took place.
Meanwhile, Valayar’s mother began to come under pressure after deciding to contest the election against the Chief Minister. Sources close to her said that she was being threatened by some groups.
The Wallayar Action Forum on Friday acted as a spy for the CPI (M) with its former joint convenor, B. Attacked Balamurali. Mr. Balamurali, in a surprise move, threatened to make significant revelations about the Valayar sisters if their mother did not back down from contesting against the Chief Minister in Dharmadom.
Alleging that some members of the forum had maintained an “unholy relationship” with the Congress, Mr. Balamurali said that the Congress had “bought” the people’s movement, demanding justice for the Valayar sisters.
Forum president Vilayodi Venugopal, convener VM Marsen and patron CR Nilakandan dismissed Mr Balamurali’s charge, saying he was not involved in the movement. He described Mr. Balamurali as a CPI (M) spy.
Sources close to Valayar Maa have revealed that it was Mr. Balamurali who took him to the Chief Minister when the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) visited Palakkad on 31 October, 2019 in view of the nationwide uproar. All the accused in the death of the minor sisters of Valayar were acquitted.
NCPCR member Yashwant Jain waited a full day in Palakkad with the hope of meeting his mother. But sources said that Mr. Balamurali detained him without a stole to meet the NCPCR.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the forum said here on Friday that the High Court directive asked the CBI to handle the Waliyar case in 10 days and exposed the government’s stand. “The court has exposed the fake face of the government in the case,” he said.
