Virat Kohli joins Royal Challengers Bangalore team in Chennai Ahead of IPL 2021

Virat Kohli arrived in Chennai on Thursday along with the rest of the members of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team against their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season opener champion Mumbai Indians. Earlier in the day, former South African captain AB de Villiers also joined the team’s bio-bubble in Chennai. RCB will take on Mumbai Indians on 9 April to kick-start their campaign. RCB took to Twitter to share a picture of their captain Virat Kohli and wrote “If you thought we were breaking the internet for the day, think again! Captain Virat Kohli has arrived in Chennai.”

After Kohli joined the RCB team, fans flooded Twitter with messages for the captain.

Kohli played an excellent T20 series with the bat against England in the recently concluded tour.

The captain of India was the top scorer in the five-match series, scoring 231 runs at a stunning strike rate of over 147.

The Bangalore franchise will be looking forward to seeing Virat Kohli in this year’s IPL as they look to lift their maiden IPL trophy.

Kohli, who started the innings for India in the last T20I alongside Rohit Sharma, had already mentioned that he would be opening for RCB in the upcoming edition of the IPL.

Kohli has participated in 192 IPL games so far in his career and has scored 5,878 runs including five centuries and 39 fifties.

Kohli’s IPL season with the bat was the best in 2016 when he scored 973 runs and scored four centuries.

RCB will be expecting a similar performance from their captain in the coming season as they want to break the trophy jinks.
