Vaccination done in mini-clinics

The district administration has made COVID-19 vaccine available in all mini-clinics. Officials said the move is expected to improve accessibility to the public.

The Tiruchi Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital and 30 other government centers in Tiruchi district had vaccine session sites, including Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and 42 private hospitals. To further increase vaccine availability, 60 mini-clinics in the district will be fitted with the COVID-19 vaccine, where the public can receive the vaccine for free.

People are eligible – all who have a co-morbid age of 45 and all seniors over the age of 60 can go to their nearest mini clinic with a valid photo identity card and get a shot of the vaccine. Those who wish to register in advance can do so www.cowin.gov.in.

The collector said in a release that all the necessary arrangements and stocks for both vaccines – Kovaxin and Kovishield – have been made available.
