Updated tab bar design and other changes that the latest Safari Technology introduces - Times of India

iPhone maker Apple has released a new version of Safari Technology Preview. The latest version brings changes to the Safari browser that includes an updated tab bar, live text, passkeys in iCloud Keychain, and support for WebGL 2.
As reported by AppleInsider, the tech giant has released the latest preview to developers and interested users through Apple’s developer portal. It brings version 128 of Safari Technology Preview.
One of the major changes introduced in the latest version is the modified tab bar. The tab bar now sits below the address and search text entry field. It iterates the divisive design that was first introduced with macOS Monterey.
To recall, Apple relocated the tabs to sit in line with the address bar and navigation controls in the early release of macOS Monterey beta version. Apple, then, emphasised on a space-saving GUI and moved page refresh and sharing buttons into a drop-down menu housed within each tab.
The changes, however, led to confusion among some testers. This resulted in Apple reverting back some of the changes and introducing a new design closer to Safari’s current design.
It is this design that Apple has issued in the latest Safari Technology Preview. And as mentioned before, the adjustments were also incorporated into last week’s macOS Monterey beta release.
Those interested can download the Safari Technology Preview 128 from Apple’s developer webpage. The preview also brings new features like the passkeys in iCloud Keychain, support for WebGL 2 and live text.
