TVS Motor 2-Wheeler exports 100,000 units of watch in March

TVS Motor Company Limited (TVSM), a leading manufacturer of two and three-wheelers, has seen two-wheeler exports to 100,000 units in March, pleased with the growth in motorcycle sales in key markets worldwide.

This is a significant opportunity for TVS Motor as our international two-wheeler business achieved sales of 100,000 units in March. Sudarshan Darshan, JMD said, in the past months, we have seen growth in different geographies with a change in premium.

Stating that they would try to take this momentum forward by coming out with an exciting range of products, he said “the future of investment in technology and mobility will be important for us in the next phase of growth and change.”

TVSM, which has a presence in more than 60 countries, wants to enter more markets in Europe and North America. The company’s major export products include TVS Apache, TVS HLX series, TVS Striker series.

Recently, TVSM chairman Venu Srinivasan stated that his global ambition was to become a premium motorcycle company with 20% of businesses coming with a premium brand. For this, it appointed Ralph Spath, a global automotive industry veteran and former CEO of JLR, as non-executive director.

TVSM acquired British Sporting Motorcycle Norton Motorcycle through an overseas subsidiary in April 2020 for £ 16 million and certain assets of Norton Motorcycle (UK) Limited. During January 2021, Norton announced that it would move to the most advanced manufacturing facility.

Norton is currently finalizing the construction of its new factory in Sollihull and is expected to open by the middle of the second quarter of 2021 and usher in an exciting new chapter for the English marquee.
