Tom Wilson of the Capitals hits Brins a ‘hunter’ who hospitalizes Brandon Carlo

The Bruins instigated the Capitals forward Tom Wilson on Friday night, as he sent defenseman Brandon Carlo out of the game and eventually took him to the hospital with a high hit.

He felt Wilson take a cheap shot at Carlo, who suffered a head injury on the glass of the end-boards. No penalty was called.

“Apparently he seemed to have held me in the head properly,” Brins coach Bruce Cassidy said, per NESN.com. “Defenseless player. Predatory hit from a player already done, so I don’t understand why there was no penalty on the ice.” Cassidy told reporters that Carlo was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Boston.

Bruins forward Brad Marchand called it a “bull-hit” and a “f-ing cheap shot” on live TV.

Boston captain Patrice Bergeron gave Wilson a piece of his mind during the game.

So did another player who was heard in TD Garden ripping Wilson.

Naturally, the fist was also part of the response. Jarred Tinordi in his second game with the Bruins, and Trent Frederick took off the gloves with him.

And, for the rapper, Brins gave the final answer, winning 5–1.

If you want to do some calendar-circling, East Division teams are scheduled to meet four times this season. Their next matchup is in Washington on 8 April.
