GK Vasan said that he had faith and confidence in the AIADMK leadership to allot the seats sought by the Tamil Manila Congress.
The Tamil Manila Congress on Thursday night accepted AIADMK’s proposal for six constituencies for the upcoming assembly election, 6 hours after party president GK Vasan met senior leaders, expressing displeasure over AIADMK’s offer. TMC had sought 12 seats from AIADMK, but now it will contest on the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol of the ruling party.
The AIADMK, however, referred to TMC, Lalguri constituency, for which it did the same on Wednesday. Rajaram was declared a candidate. Other constituencies allotted to TMC are Thiru V.K. Nagar (reserved), Erode east, Pattukkottai, Thoothukudi and Killiyur.
Mr. Vasan said that the party will contest the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol as the demand for ‘cycle’ symbol is “sub-judge”.
Earlier in the day, he had said that the party would fight to the last to get the ‘cycle’ election symbol. “In Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is demanding that symbol, in Kashmir the Panther Party wants it and in Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Mulayam Singh wants it. If we get a chance [to contest on the Cycle symbol] And if someone files a case, there is a possibility that the victory of our candidates can be prevented, ”he said.
“As far as the AIADMK is concerned, he is the leader of the coalition. CM and Deputy CM have successfully run the government for 10 years. We want them to come back to power for the third time and are supporting them. When we tell them something, they will discuss and call us. This is the right approach and TMC has always been known to follow coalition religion, ”Mr. Vasan said before agreeing to the deal offered by AIADMK on Thursday night.
