TN Assembly Election | After Sattur MLA, Sivakasi former MLA joined AMMK

After the ruling party MLA MSR Rajavarman, joined the AMMK, former AIADMK MLA, J. Balagangadharan, and another MGR Mandalam officer of Virudhunagar district, Gokulam M. Thangaraj has also joined AMMK.

Like Mr. Rajavarman, who was denied party ticket from Sattur assembly seat, Mr. Thangaraj, who was promised an opportunity to contest from Virudhunagar assembly constituency, was not given a party ticket.

Mr. Thangaraj claimed that he had spent huge amounts of money for welfare assistance during the COVID-19 epidemic, as per the advice of Dairy Development Minister Katie Rajanthra Bhalaji. He is likely to be declared as the AMMK party candidate from Virudhunagar assembly seat, which has been given to the Bharatiya Janata Party by AIADMK.

Meanwhile, Shri Balagangadharan, who became AIADMK MLA from Sivakasi assembly constituency in 1991, also joined AMMK on Thursday in the presence of his general secretary TTV Dhinakaran.

“The MLA, former MLA and former MP along with several secretaries of the party union and the city complained about the deteriorating functioning of the party in the district for almost a year. No action was taken against Shri Bhalaji. I do not want to be in a party where my self-respect is challenged, ”he said.

Saying that the party’s weakness should not go in favor of the DMK, Mr. Balagangadharan said that he had joined the party for better leadership.
