The rays of the sun touch the deity in the Arasavili temple

Hundreds of devotees witnessed the rare sight while watching the rays of the sun at the Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavilli in Srikakulam district on Wednesday.

Usually, the rays of the sun enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and touch the feet of the idol in the second week of March every year and the credit goes to the precise architecture of the temple.

The rays of the sun kept falling on the deity for about seven minutes from 6.19 am to 6.26 am on Wednesday, as devotees danced to watch the rare sight.

Temple executive officer V. Hari Surya Prakash said that elaborate arrangements were made for the devotees to remove the trouble of the deity on the auspicious occasion.
