“About five months ago, I was doing my regular practice when an invitee caught my eye. I wondered how its gold and silver lines would look inside a drawing. It did a great job, and I continued to incorporate pictures and collages, ”said Mr. Vasudev, reproducing the idea that the current series.

Looking at some of the collages he made in 1978, the artist said, “I realized that there were no lines on those pieces, except where the paper was cut and pasted. I found it fascinating. I started sourcing pictures from glossy magazines and newspapers, experimenting with texture and form, tearing and cutting pieces of paper that I wanted to use. “

It was a defining moment when Shri Vasudev started using images The tree, His biography in a coffee table book format. “I extracted my own images from the book – a face here, a few hands – and began to recreate the stories, pasting the scraps in an unusual way. I found the results interesting and unique.”

The ‘Montage’ series includes elements such as clothing, cardboard and other materials in addition to paper and canvas. Mr. Vasudev said that he drew inspiration for the series from various sources. “I drew inspiration from theater, dance, literature, poetry and art,” he said.

Trees are a recurring theme in ‘Memories of Outrage’ with abstract concepts such as witchcraft, dancer, deity, bond between man and animals, as well as reflection and horrors.
