The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+ release date, and how YOU can watch at the lowest price

Boba Fett is back. The legendary bounty hunter takes centre-stage in this own series, The Book of Boba Fett, which was teased in the final episode of the second season of The Mandalorian. The Star Wars spin-off will see Temeura Morrison reprise his role as Boba Fett, with Ming-Na Wen returning as Fennec Shand. Matt Berry also stars. Little is known about the direction the show will take – with Disney keeping all details about the plot under lock-and-key.

The first episode of The Book of Boba Fett arrived at 8am GMT (12am PT / 3am ET / 5pm AEDT) today, December 29, 2021. Each subsequent episode will land on Disney+ at the same time every week. The seventh and final instalment in the new series landing on February 9, 2021. The first episode, entitled Stranger in a Strange Land, clocks in at 38-minutes. However, do not expect every episode in The Book of Boba Fett to hit the same time limit, if the series is anything like The Mandalorian, episodes will vary in length depending on what the filmmakers wanted to achieve with the plot of each week’s instalment.

If you want to watch The Book of Boba Fett following its release on the streaming service, you’ll need to have a subscription to Disney+, which starts from £7.99 a month. However, if you want to get the best deal, you can drop that price down if you buy an annual plan upfront. Paying £79 upfront for the next 12-months will effectively drop the monthly cost to £6.65.

While you’ll need to wait until February to see the finale of The Book of Boba Fett to air on Disney+, there’s plenty to watch in the meantime. For starters, there’s two complete series of The Mandalorian, which introduces Temeura Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, as well as the nine movies in the Star Wars saga, and spin-offs including Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Disney+ is available on a vast number of devices, including iPhone, Android, iPad, Sky Q, Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast with Google TV, games consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X, Smart TVs from Samsung, plus dozens more. And that’s a very good thing too as each Disney+ subscription can be used on a maximum of four devices at the same time – so younger viewers can watch an animated classic from Walt Disney Pictures on a tablet, while teenagers binge-watch The Mandalorian on a games console, and older viewers can watch films like Die Hard or series like Dopesick on the living room television.

Up to seven different profiles can be created, with unique recommendations based on the viewing history on that profile. Disney+ also lets parents and guardians set strict guidelines about what content can be accessed from each profile. You can add a PIN to stop younger viewers jumping into your profile to binge-watch something inappropriate while you’re out of the house too.

Disney+ boasts a dizzying amount of content, including every Star Wars film, every entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as exclusive seasons that tie-in with the blockbusters in your local multiplex, like Hawkeye, WandaVision, and Loki, the complete catalogue from Pixar Studios, every episode of The Simpsons ever broadcast, documentary series and films from National Geographic, and the classic animated Walt Disney features most associated with the company.

Under the Star brand, introduced to Disney+ earlier this year, there are more mature movies and series acquired from the 20th Century Fox merger, including the likes of Die Hard, The Devil Wears Prada, Family Guy, Futurama, Signs, and more.

Next year looks set to bring even more to the Netflix rival, with Pixar’s Turning Red and Toy Story spin-off film Lightyear scheduled to release in cinemas before coming to Disney+. There’s also a sequel to Enchanted sequel called Disenchanted and a live-action Pinocchio – both of which will be exclusive to Disney+ with no cinematic release planned. A new Star Wars series entitled Obi-Wan Kenobi with Ewan McGregor is coming as well as a new season for The Mandalorian, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight are also all tipped to land on the streaming service in the coming months.
