Thank God ‘Mir Zafar’ left Trinamool, saved the party: Mamta showed jib in Adikari family

He urged people to be vigilant while casting votes and properly check EVMs

On Saturday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a candid discussion in the influential Abhari family of Purva Medinipur district that she was relieved as “Mir Zafars” (traitors), who left the party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Terming the BJP as a “party of feudal lords”, the Trinamool Congress supremo addressed an election rally in Khejuri in the district, alleging that the saffron party was more interested in selling the entire country.

“Thank God, ‘Mir Jaffers’ (traitor) left (TMC). I am relieved. It has saved us (the party). They never allowed me to come to Khejuri, Nandigram or Kanhar.” At these places. As if it is their ‘Zamindari’. Now, no one can stop me from coming here, “Ms. Banerjee said.

He alleged that the BJP had stolen several lakh crores of rupees from the common people of the country by “selling” railways, BSNL and banks.

“BJP should clear the air on demonetization money and PM’s fund. People want to know,” he said.

He urged people to be vigilant while casting votes and to properly check EVMs.

Using the slogan of the party’s famous ‘Khela Hobe’ (the game is on), he urged voters to take the BJP out of the country.

He said, “Play the game in such a way that the BJP goes out of the country.”

Ms. Banerjee left her former lieutenant and BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari in the Nandigram seat to contest the election in Bhawanipore constituency in Kolkata, where the anti-incumbency movement in the state led the Trinamool to power in 2011.

Most members of the Adhikari family, which have considerable political dominance in the district, have either joined the BJP or expressed a desire to join the saffron party.
