Tesco down reports have been surging in these past few days, with thousands of shoppers experiencing issues. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has recorded a huge spike in Tesco down reports, with shoppers first reporting issues with the site on Saturday morning. Down Detector UK has so far recorded a peak of around 1,500 reports of Tesco down.
The outage has so far lasted for over 24 hours, with the official Tesco Twitter confirming problems with its site at 9am on Saturday.
The @Tesco Twitter posted: “We’re experiencing an issue with our website and app and are working hard to get things back up and running. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Throughout the weekend customers have been sending messages to the Tesco Twitter asking when service will be back to normal.
One tweeted: “I have a delivery booked for 10.00 Sunday morning and only 1 or 2 items in my basket. I tried all day to add items but of course have been unable to do so. I do not intend to pay a surcharge for spending less then £40 but how can I stop the delivery.”
While another posted: “I’ve got a shop being delivered tomorrow but I’ve not added all my items to the shop yet! What am I supposed to do if I can’t amend the shop?”
One added: “Tesco – this has caused a lot of stress today!! I have been logging on and off the app and website to see if I can amend my order but it’s still down. I tried to ring the number to amend or cancel delivery and was referred back the website and app. I officially give up x”.
And another wrote: “Oh come on people, the app has been down for over 24hrs now. I know you’re busy but please sort this out ASAP.”
However, in a recent update one of those running the Tesco Twitter said they didn’t have a time frame for when the issue would be resolved.
Replying to one customer the @Tesco Twitter posted: “Our IT teams are doing their best and will have the website and app working as soon as possible.
“At the moment, we don’t have any updates or a timeframe as to when we can expect this to be. I am really sorry.”
