Mr Jagan, who was working as a Panchayat Secretary in Minpur, ended his life at his home on Wednesday, alleging that he was being harassed and not given proper respect.
The body was sent to the government hospital in Sangareddy for postmortem. When the authorities tried to shift the dead body to its original place, panchayat secretaries from across the district gathered there in large numbers and sat in front of the ambulance. The agitating panchayat secretaries did not trust when Collector M. Hanumantha Rao visited the hospital and tried to convince them. He withdrew the movement only after the MLA pacified him.
Later speaking to reporters, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy termed the death of the Panchayat Secretary as a murder by the government. He wondered why the leader of employee unions was absent when an employee ended his life.
