Tata Power Limited has taken over NESCO (management and operations of North Eastern power supply company Odisha) on completion of the sale process, the company announced on Thursday.
Now, NESCO will operate under the name of the company as TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL).
As per the order issued by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC), Tata Power holds 51% equity with management control and state-owned GRIDCO will hold a 49% equity stake in the company.
TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) now responsible for distribution and retail supply of electricity in five circles of NESCO covering an annual input energy of 5450 MU in the areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, Baripada, Jajpur and Keonjhar Will happen. .
It covers a geographical spread of over 27,500 sq km and a network of over 90,000 CKT.KM. For a license period of 25 years.
With this, Tata Power now distributes electricity across Odisha with a total customer base of 9 million.
