Party President GK Mani will contest from Penagaram
After finalizing its 23 constituencies, PMK on Wednesday released the first list of its 10 candidates for the assembly elections, which will be contested as part of the AIADMK-led coalition.
Party President GK Mani was fielded from Penagaram. PMK spokesperson K. Balu will contest from Jayakandam while another party leader M. Thilagamba has been fielded in Athur (from Dindigul district).
Earlier in the evening, the AIADMK released the list of constituencies allotted to the PMK and the list had some surprises.
The PMK has been allotted to Chepak-Thiruvallikeni constituency, which was widely expected to be given to BJP’s star candidate, Kusho Sundar, who had started his work in the constituency.
The PMK is not only allocated seats, where it has a solid voter base, such as Panagaram, Dharmapuri, Jayanakandam, Mettur and Vriddhachalam, but also has three reserved constituencies in Vandavasi, Poonamalle and Keizhvelur.
Other constituencies allotted to the party are Gingee, Melam, Thirupporur, Neyveli, Tirupathur, Arcot, Gummidipoindi, Mayiladuthurai, Dharmapuri, Kanchipuram, Keezephenathur, Salem (West), Sholingar and Shankarpuram.
