A stone from Sita Eliya, the Sri Lankan place where the goddess Sita is believed to be held captive, will be used in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and serve as a pillar of strength for Indo-Sri Lankan relations, Commission in Indian High Colombo said.

The stone is expected to be brought to India by Sri Lanka High Commissioner Milinda Moragoda.

“A stone from Sita Elia in #SriLanka for the Ram temple in # Ayodhya will be a pillar of strength for #India- # Sri Lanka relations. Milind Moragoda received by HC-designation at Mayurapati Amman Temple, “Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka tweeted on Thursday.

A temple in Sita Eliya is dedicated to the goddess Sita and is said to mark the place where she was taken captive by King Ravana of Lanka and where she regularly prayed to Lord Rama for her rescue.

En route to Hakgala Gardens, the vibrant and colorful temple is known as Sita Amman Temple. Across a brook are round marks found at the top of the cliff which are believed to be the footprints of elephants that belonged to Ravana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ of the Supreme Court’s Ram Mandir in Ayodhya last year, which encouraged the ir “temple movement” of the BJP, which defined its politics for three decades and took it to the heights of power. Gone.
