San Francisco, July 2: Google has announced to automatically delete visits to abortion clinics, domestic violence shelters, weight loss clinics, and other potentially sensitive locations from users’ location data.

The tech giant said that if their systems identify that someone has visited one of these places, “we will delete these entries from Location History soon after they visit. This change will take effect in the coming weeks”.

“In addition to Explore, you will now be able to control the amount of sensitive content and accounts you see in Search, Reels, Accounts You Might Follow, Hashtag Pages and In-Feed Recommendations,” the photo-sharing platform said in a blogpost.

244 sensitive, 7 important polling stations identified

The district administration has identified 244 sensitive and seven important polling stations in the district.

Tiruchuli assembly constituency has the most sensitive polling booths, while Virudhunagar assembly seat has the least 21 polling stations.

District Voting Officer and Collector R. Kannan said weak polling stations are measured by the law and order problem, voters in the past and lower records of caste and communally sensitive areas. The number of sensitive and important booths will be revisited.

Meanwhile, out of the seven important polling stations identified, Srivilliputtur and Sivakasi assembly constituencies have two such polling stations each and one seat each in Rajapalayam, Sattur and Virudhunagar assembly seats.

Polling stations were those where the voting percentage was more than 90% in the past and where 75% of the votes went to a particular candidate.

“We will deploy central paramilitary forces at polling stations whose identity is weak and critical. In addition, each polling station will have a micro-observer, ”he said.

The micro-supervisor will be a designated officer from any department of the Central Government or nationalized banks.

While stating that the Election Commission has asked to provide web-streaming or close circuit television cameras for 50% of the total 3,270 polling stations, the collector said that sensitive and important booths would be covered under the provision of this facility.
