    WhatsApp Rolls Out New Feature, Beta Users Can Now View Profile Photos Within Group Chats on Desktop

    San Francisco, Nov 17: WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to some beta testers that allows users to see profile photos within group chats on a desktop.

    If a group member does not set up a profile photo or if it is hidden due to privacy restrictions, the default profile icon appears and it is highlighted using the same colour as the contact name.

    The messaging platform started to work on this new feature for WhatsApp Desktop beta in October.

    New Delhi, November 13: Apple Inc has rolled out a beta programme to enable 5G on Apple devices as the upgrade lets users try out pre-release software. This software upgrade enables 5G access on Apple devices, as and when service providers Jio, Airtel and Vodafone enable 5G network access, sources said.

    Apple Users have to enrol for the Beta Programme on the website, install a profile and download the software. Jio users using iPhone 12 and above, in cities where JioTrue5G has been rolled out, will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer. Google To Release Software Update for Nest WiFi Pro Routers To Fix Slow Internet Speeds.

    Jio Welcome Offer provides unlimited 5G data at up to 1 Gbps speed to users at no additional cost. However, there is a condition that prepaid users must be on active Rs 239 and above plan. All Postpaid users are eligible for this trial.

    Airtel is not providing any special 5G offer like Jio to their users. In the cities/areas in which the Airtel 5G network has been launched, users can trial 5G services as a part of their existing plan, once they have updated the latest Apple Beta software.

    While an email sent to Apple did not solicit an immediate response, the firm had last month stated: “We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed. 5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December”.

    Airtel and Jio customers on iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (3rd generation) models can experience 5G as part of Apple’s iOS 16 Beta Software Program. The Apple Beta Software Program is open to anyone with a valid Apple ID who accepts the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during the sign-up process.

    Customers who want to try the beta software should back up their iPhones before installing the beta software. It is recommended to install the beta software only on non-production devices that are not business-critical.     The iOS beta comes with the built-in Feedback Assistant app, which can be opened from the Home screen on the iPhone or iPad or from the Dock on the Mac.

    San Francisco, Nov 11: Microsoft has rolled out a new feature that allows direct integration of iCloud Photos into the Photos app on Windows 11, and will be available via a Microsoft Store update.

    “We know that many Windows customers have photo and video collections on their iPhones that they would like to be able to view on their PC. This iCloud Photos integration will make it easier for those with an iPhone to have direct access to all their cherished memories in one organised place and is another step in our continued efforts to make experiences on Windows 11 seamless,” said Microsoft in a blogpost.

    The new update in the Photos app on Windows 11 will make the organisation of users’ photo collection easy, no matter where their photos and videos came from, i.e. via phone, camera, and cloud storage. Samsung May Launch Galaxy A54 5G Earlier Than Expected in January 2023.

    To bring iCloud Photos into the Photos app, users need to make sure their Photos app is updated, and then they can install the iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store.

The Blue service, which was rolled out to users in the US as well as a few other countries on Wednesday, is expected to be widely available in India in the coming days. Some users in India have started sharing images of the prompts received for Twitter Blue subscription. 

    Few Indian users have started seeing prompts on their devices asking them to subscribe to Twitter Blue. However, as per reports, the service is only being rolled out to iOS users first.     For now, only some have received these prompts for Twitter Blue.

    The official website does not show any details about the rollout timeline of the service in India. In addition, Twitter owner Elon Musk, has said that Twitter Blue users also get priority in reach and display on Twitter.

    Earlier, when Elon Musk had announced that outside the US the price of Twitter Blue will depend on the purchasing power in that country which led to speculation in India that the price of Twitter Blue would be significantly lower than $7.99 that Musk had proposed for other countries like US. However, if early indications are to be believed this is not the case.

    Some days ago Twitter had rolled out the ‘official’ checkmark for notable accounts but it was scrapped just hours after rollout.

    New Delhi: LG Electronics on Monday launched its very own non-fungible token (NFT) platform called LG Art Lab compatible with its premium TVs.   • Meta Rolls Out NFT Support on Instagram to 100 Countries: Report

    San Francisco: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is beginning the international expansion of non-fungible tokens (NFT) support on its photo and video-sharing platform Instagram. The expansion follows the social network’s initial NFT test launch in May. With this expansion, users and businesses in more than 100 countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas will now be able to share their NFTs on Instagram. Facebook Starts Testing NFTs With Select Creators in the US.

    Prior to the expansion, the support was only available to select creators in the US, reports TechCrunch. The company also announced that Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet are now accepted as third-party wallet compatible for use.

    Instagram is also expanding its supported blockchains to include Flow. Instagram’s NFT functionality allows users to connect a digital wallet, share NFTs and automatically tag a creator and collector for attribution.

    Users can share NFTs in their main Instagram Feed, Stories or messages. Once they post a digital collectible, it will have a shimmer effect and can display public information, such as a description of the NFT. In order to post a digital collectible on Instagram, users need to connect their digital wallet to Instagram.
