    Students of classes 1 to 9 in all regions of Union Territory of Puducherry were declared “All Passes” directed by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan on Thursday.

    An official said that postal voting would help in isolation from exposure to coronovirus.

    Postal ballots will be issued from 25 March and will continue till 4 April. The founder-director of Sathya School Chitra Shah also addressed the participants.

    More than 60 parents and persons with disabilities attended the orientation.

    The union territory on Saturday registered a COVID-19 death and 19 new cases.

    A 72-year-old man from Pakkumudianpet succumbed to the virus at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

    The death toll now rises to 670.

    Of the total new cases, 13 are from Puducherry region, four from Karaikal and the remaining two from Mahe.

    On Saturday, there were 69 patients in government hospitals and 104 at home, according to data released by the health department.
