Puducherry Election | AMMK, SDPI Clinic Deals

Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) has allotted four assembly segments in Puducherry to the Bharatiya Janata Party (SDPI). There are four seats: Nellithop, Aranyakuppam, Karaikal (North) and Mahe, the leaders of both parties, TTV Dhinakaran and M. According to an agreement signed by Thameem Kahn.

Students of classes 1 to 9 declared ‘pass’ in Puducherry

Students of classes 1 to 9 in all regions of Union Territory of Puducherry were declared “All Passes” directed by Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan on Thursday.

The Lieutenant Governor, who had approved the recommendations in this regard by the Department of Education, also directed that students of classes 10 and 11 in Puducherry and Karaikal be declared passes as per the Tamil Nadu Board guidelines. Similarly, students of classes 10 and 11 from Mahe and Yanam regions will be declared pass as per Kerala and Andhra Pradesh board guidelines, a press note from Raj Niwas said.

At the time of the schools, it was decided that the institutes would work five days a week and there would be holidays on Saturdays and Sundays.

Schools for classes 1 to 9 will function from March 31 and summer vacation will begin from April 1.

The Lt. Governor also gave approval for two ongoing schemes – approval of ₹ 29.65 crore for payment of old age / widow / destitute pension to 1,54,847 beneficiaries and actual expenditure of ₹ 24.35 lakh for purchase of food and non-acceptance. . Dietary material for Anganwadi centers in Mahe and Yanam areas. Ms. Soundarajan approved the declaration of drought days from April 4 to 6 for voting and from 4 pm on May 2 to 4 pm for the counting of votes.

Puducherry Assembly Election | Former home minister not to contest election

E. Valsaraj says that the younger generation in the party has to pave the way for contesting elections

Senior Congress leader and former home minister E. Valsaraj on Thursday announced not to contest the assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference at the state Congress Committee office here, the former minister said that his decision not to contest the election was sent back to the party high command only in 2016.

“This is not a sudden decision or anything to do with the current political situation in the Union Territory. I represented Mahe constituency for six consecutive terms till 2016. LG, Australian messenger discusses business, business

Puducherry Assembly Election | The officials explained the registration methods for postal voting

SVEEP’s Nodal Officer V. Govindasamy explained the modalities of postal voting and registration for filling the sample application form.

The Election Department organized an orientation program for individual members and their parents on the postal voting system at Sathya Special School on Thursday.

The session also featured a live video tutorial.

According to Election Department officials, the polling station officer will issue the postal application form (Form 12D), which should be filled and submitted along with a copy of the authorized officer’s certificate.

March 17 is the last date for submission of filled forms.

The returning officer will send the polling officers to the applicant’s residence and a text message will be sent notifying the date and time of the visit. The officials will issue postal ballots on confirmation of the identity of the application. Voting confidentiality will be ensured.

An official said that postal voting would help in isolation from exposure to coronovirus.

Postal ballots will be issued from 25 March and will continue till 4 April. The founder-director of Sathya School Chitra Shah also addressed the participants.

More than 60 parents and persons with disabilities attended the orientation.

Puducherry Assembly Election 2021 | Congress contested 15 seats, 13 DMK

The CPI and VCK will contest one seat each.

Coronavirus | 1 COVID-19 deaths, 19 new cases registered in Puducherry

The union territory on Saturday registered a COVID-19 death and 19 new cases.

A 72-year-old man from Pakkumudianpet succumbed to the virus at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

The death toll now rises to 670.

Of the total new cases, 13 are from Puducherry region, four from Karaikal and the remaining two from Mahe.

On Saturday, there were 69 patients in government hospitals and 104 at home, according to data released by the health department.

New cases were discovered after an investigation of 1,322 persons. So far, 6,37,161 individuals were tested for novel coronaviruses in the union territory.

The case was fatal in Puducherry, now 1.68% and the recovery rate was 97.88%.
